Interesting how, even in the point-and-click Internet age, you still have to know how to write. Sort of. CyberEdit,
launched in July, will take care of that task for you--for a modest fee. The site, founded in
1997 as EssayEdge by then-Harvard undergraduate Geoff Cook (pictured above), claims to be the
Net's only comprehensive editing portal, offering resume writing and Web posting, business document
production, and admissions essay editing services. Most of CyberEdit's business comes from resume
consultation, but it has tackled bigger projects, including a wholesale catalog for an online candle seller.
And--gasp--the company is profitable. "The costs aren't all that high; our editors work from their
homes," says Mr. Cook. CyberEdit intends to launch a major online ad campaign sometime soon. Flawlessly
edited, we expect.
