Stage 1
Questionnaire

During the purchase process, you will have the chance to submit a rough draft of your essay, if you have one. After placing your order, you will gain access to the EssayEdge™ questionnaire, which will gather background information that your editor will use to generate ideas for your essay.

Stage 2
Brainstorming Interview by Phone

Your editor will read through the questionnaire and your rough draft (if you have one) and schedule a time to speak with you by phone for 30 - 45 minutes. On the phone, your editor will ask more questions, brainstorm with you, discuss your approach and topic ideas, and suggest content ideas and changes.

Stage 3
Email Opinion

Based on your questionnaire and your phone call, your editor will email you with specific comments on big-picture ways to write your essay or improve the content of your draft. This is not an edit, but your editor's opinion on how best to write or improve your essay. Please note: we do not write model essays for clients.

Stage 4
Email Interaction

Within the next seven days, you incorporate your editor's ideas and write a new rough draft. You may interact with your editor by email during this period.

Stage 5
Editing

You submit your new draft to your editor, who will complete a Premium Service edit of it within 48 hours.

Stage 6
Phone & Email Interaction

Once you receive your edit, you schedule a 30 - 45 minute phone call with your editor and have seven days to interact via email to cover remaining questions and further perfect your essay.

Stage 7
Final Polish Editing

You submit your essay for a final polish after completing Stage 6.

"My primary concern was my undergrad GPA and I used an addendum to my personal statement to address this. However, in my first draft of the addendum, I spent almost the whole time talking about the GPA and very little time talking about what I have been doing for the 14 years since I graduated. [My editor] advised me to do the exact opposite of this. My new addendum made a brief mention of the GPA issue and some solid reasons why this happened. I then immediately switched gears and higlighted all that I have accomplished since I graduated. This approach was absolutely correct and I shudder when I read my original draft."
