Ellen W.

Ellen is a veteran of international journalism, working as Chief Correspondent, Americas for the Thomson Reuters Foundation to oversee news coverage in North, South and Central America. Previously she was a national, New York and business correspondent for Reuters and a news writer for CNN and United Press International. Most recently, she is teaching journalistic writing at Baruch College, City University of New York, editing at New York's Daily News and working as senior communications manager at the United Nations Global Compact, a sustainability initiative. Her latest freelance articles have run in USA Today and Business Insider, and she has been penning press releases and opinion pieces for business executives and other organizations. She holds a Master's Degree in political theory from Columbia University and a Bachelor's Degree in government from Cornell University, and she is certified in hostile environment reporting. She lives in New York City.
